The Center for Small Towns and the Bush Foundation are partnering to highlight the importance of leadership in our communities. The joint gathering strives to be practical, affordable, and to create a platform to maximize the benefits of face-to-face interactions for all who care about small towns and rural areas.
There are TWO important events taking place:
The first event is a Leadership Chautauqua hosted by the Bush Foundation. The Chautauqua is intended for program providers, funders, and researchers of leadership programs. The event will bring leadership development program practitioners from Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota to join with community leaders to explore how leadership development programs assist in our community vitality efforts. If you work in the areas listed above, we hope you will consider being a part of this unique convening. The Leadership Chautauqua begins on the evening of June 12th and continues all day on June 13th.
The 2012 Symposium on Small Towns merges with the Leadership Chautauqua for a reception with music and food the evening of June 13th. On June 14th, the Symposium will feature talks by distinguished speakers, a public policy panel, presentations by community members about their work, and a “Reigniting” showcase fair. We can meet the rapid pace of change in rural America with new strategies and measured risks. There are tools, resources, and models to meet the challenges. The 2012 Symposium on Small Towns brings community leaders together to celebrate, learn and grow. The cost for the 2012 Symposium on Small Towns is $65.
For more information on the 2012 Symposium/Chautauqua,

Registration deadline for both events is June 6, 2012!
