Clean Energy Resource Team

CERTs-Logo-color_300dpiThe Clean Energy Resource Teams—or CERTs—are a statewide partnership with a shared mission to connect individuals and their communities to the resources they need to identify and implement community-based clean energy projects. West Central CERT empowers communities and their members to adopt energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy technologies and practices for their homes, businesses, and local institutions.

West Central CERT goals:

  • Provide tools to spur community members to move from awareness to action
  • Proactively engage specific groups about energy efficiency opportunities
  • Strengthen support for youth-focused energy programming
  • Develop, document, and disseminate community demonstration models

Select CERTs efforts:

  • Advancing clean energy projects through events, materials, technical support, and tools
  • Supporting local government energy projects through GreenStep Cities and GESP
  • Offering tools for clean energy implementation through CERTified campaigns
  • Helping people learn about and install solar
  • Providing limited financial assistance to projects through Seed Grants
  • Sharing clean energy project successes and lessons learned on our MN Energy Stories blog
