2011 Southwest Minnesota “Toward Zero Deaths” Workshop

Toward Zero Deaths is a multi-agency partnership that includes representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Minnesota State Patrol, Federal Highway Administration, and the Center for Transportation Studies, University of Minnesota, to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries on MN roadways and work to the goal of toward zero deaths.  The partnership extends to the local level to involve representatives of the four E’s:   Engineering, Enforcement, Education and Emergency Services.  The Southwest Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths initiative aims to create a collaborative, comprehensive, and regional approach to reduce traffic deaths and severe injuries in the southwestern Minnesota counties of Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Murray, Pipestone, Redwood, Renville, Yellow Medicine, Big Stone, Swift, Cottonwood, Rock, Nobles and Jackson.  This workshop will help facilitate this initiative and provides an opportunity to bring the program into your community.
