The core function of the UMVRDC is providing technical assistance to the local units of government within our five-county region. The UMVRDC’s governing board is comprised primarily of local elected officials from the area. These elected officials set policy and direction for the agency and approve the programs and services of the Commission.
A secondary function of the UMVRDC is to provide a vehicle for implementation of regional programs that cross boundaries of counties, cities and townships. The Commission delivers a variety of multi-jurisdictional programs with funding from local, state and federal agencies.
