Every Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) grant recipient is required to do a Fair Housing activity each year they have the grant. For this year’s activity in Canby, the UMVRDC partnered with the Canby City Council to come up with an activity to fulfil this task. They decided to have students at the Canby Public School and St. Peter’s School, in grades K-6, participate in a poster contest. Prizes were awarded to the winner from each class.
The theme for the children to create their posters on was “There’s No Place Like Home, Canby.” They were judged on creativity, uniqueness, and neatness. Below are pictures of the winning poster from each class.
