Cities and counties can apply to DEED each year to bring a Small Cities Development Program to their jurisdiction.
Timeline:
- November Pre-applications to DEED are due in the fall
- February If invited, a full application is due in winter
- June – July Grants are awarded to the city in early summer
- July – September Project implementation and administration processes and environmental reviews take place
- October – November Following clearance from DEED, community meetings could take place
- Money needs to be spent down typically within 2.5 years following contract awards
