Current Small Cities Development Program Grants

Cities and counties can apply to DEED each year to bring a Small Cities Development Program to their jurisdiction.

Timeline:
  • November  Pre-applications to DEED are due in the fall
  • February  If invited, a full application is due in winter
  • June – July  Grants are awarded to the city in early summer
  • July – September  Project implementation and administration processes and environmental reviews take place
  • October – November  Following clearance from DEED, community meetings could take place
  • Money needs to be spent down typically within 2.5 years following contract awards

  • City of Dawson – submitted in 2021
  • City of Benson – submitted in 2021

  • 2018 – City of Granite Falls:  Owner Occupied, Commercial, Single Family Rental
  • 2018 – City of Clarkfield: Owner Occupied, Commercial, Public Facilities
  • 2019 – City of Milan/Watson: Owner Occupied, Commercial, Multi Family Rental
  • 2019 – City of Canby: Owner Occupied, Commercial
  • 2020 – City of Appleton: Owner Occupied, Commercial
  • 2020 – City of Clara City: Owner Occupied, Commercial, Single Family Rental
