Funding and Financing Available for Farm and Small Business Energy Projects

Posted by Melissa Streich | January 15, 2015

Rural Energy for America (REAP) funding through USDA is now available for efficiency and renewables for Minnesota farmers and rural businesses.  There is twice as much funding available this year and the application is shorter and can work to fund smaller projects.  This is an exciting opportunity to move forward with renewable projects and I suggest you take a moment to think about upcoming projects you  might be interested in.  The USDA site for REAP can be found here: http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/bcp_reap.html.
There are a few workshops coming up both in Minnesota and South Dakota which will review changes to REAP as well as offer some assistance with preparing applications.  If you are interested, the link to the dates and location of the trainings is here.
The CERTs conference will also feature an in-depth work session on REAP as well as offer farm energy sessions throughout two days.  The conference is March 10th and 11th in St. Cloud.  For more information about the conference the link is: http://2015.mncerts.org.
