Posted by Melissa Streich | April 16, 2015

usdaThe USDA Rural Development, Greater Minnesota Housing Fund and Minnesota Housing along with local and statewide stakeholders gathered at the Appleton Civic CenterĀ on April 2nd for a day of sharing and learning. This Housing & Community Dialogue was designed to engage a broad network of stakeholders for tactical discussions about specific affordable housing needs in communities in Yellow Medicine, Chippewa, Big Stone, Lac Qui Parle, and Swift Counties. Throughout the day over 50 attendees heard from Barb Sporlein (Minnesota Housing), Warren Hanson (Greater Minnesota Housing Fund) and Colleen Landkamer (USDA Rural Development).
The afternoon sessions included strengthening communities through single family and multifamily housing rehabilitation and meeting diverse single family and multifamily housing needs (communities in transition).
