KaBoom Let's Play Video Contest

Posted by Melissa Streich | April 21, 2016

DPS_Let's_Play_LogoWin a $20,000 Playground Equipment Grant from Let’s Play!

From reduced recess, to increased screen time, or simply not having safe parks or playgrounds to visit, kids are losing out every day on the balanced and active play they need to thrive.
Dr Pepper Snapple Group has partnered with KaBOOM! to help provide kids and families with the tools, places and inspiration to make active play a daily priority. We’re awarding five (5) communities with $20,000 playground equipment grants through Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s Let’s Play Initiative to get more kids playing, and we need your help!

Creating your Contest Video

Choose one of the options below and create a video (in Spanish, English, or both!) that is no more than 2 minutes and tells others why play matters and why communities everywhere should be making it a priority. Your video should be creative and playful, and inspire others to share your message!
Option 1: It’s an election year, so let’s talk about the issues! Play is disappearing from schools and communities at an alarming rate and something needs to be done. Create a mock campaign video to answer the question, “Why does play matter for kids and why should communities everywhere be making kids and play a priority?” Your video can be in the form of a jingle, a commercial, a debate, a door to door campaign, or a play pep rally campaign speech.
Option 2: While athletes around the world get ready to compete for Gold this summer, KaBOOM! and Dr Pepper Snapple Group need your help to develop the Kid Olympic Games! Create a mock commercial, jingle/song, short story, or motivational speech that highlights why balanced and active play (active minds, active bodies, active together) matters for kids!
