Lac qui Parle County submitted a second Office of Energy Security (OES) grant proposal for the School District and Local Government Renewable Energy Grant Program. They were recently notified that they have been placed on the short list for the potential funding. The funding requested was for $100,000.
Lac qui Parle County intends on utilizing a geothermal system to assist with the heating and cooling needs of the Lac qui Parle courthouse. The project must next be submitted to the U.S. Department of Energy for National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) review.
