Clontarf, Danvers, De Graff, and Benson were awarded a grant of $25,000 from the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office to complete a shared fire and rescue services study of the four cities.
The UMVRDC has been assisting a Local Task Force comprised of representatives of the named volunteer fire departments. The Local Task Force has recently completed a data gathering activity to serve the purpose of providing fire department specific information on training schedules, staffing, facilities, vehicles and other firefighting equipment, and budgeting practices. This information will serve as the foundation for the shared services study.
The next Local Task Force meeting is expected to occur in late March.
