Montevideo SCDP

Montevideo Property Owners: Funding May Be Available for Building Improvements!

The City of Montevideo, in partnership with the Upper Minnesota Regional Development Commission (UMVRDC), is applying for funding through the Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).

If awarded, the grant could provide funding to help eligible property owners make needed improvements to their buildings.

Homeowners

Eligible homeowners could receive up to $25,000 per home for improvements such as:

• Gutters, windows, doors & siding
• Insulation & energy-efficiency improvements
• Electrical, plumbing & heating/furnace
• Roofing & foundation repairs
• Safety & accessibility improvements
• Lead testing and removal
• Building code violations
…and other eligible rehabilitation work.

Downtown Commercial Property Owners

Eligible downtown commercial property owners could receive up to $40,000 for similar rehabilitation improvements.

Your Interest Matters!

The City needs feedback from residents to demonstrate that there is enough interest among eligible property owners to support the grant application.

If you complete the Interest Survey, you will also receive priority status to use the funds if the City receives the grant.

Complete the Interest Survey by November 5, 2026:
